Dick Schouten - Taking Notice

For a while now OLCV has been talking about Dick Schouten and the race for Washington County Commission Chair. In fact, many of you may have just received an e-mail from us talking about our full leap to support his campaign. If you missed it, here a some of the reasons we are supporting Dick Schouten.

In other news around the race, clear differences continue to emerge between Dick Schouten and his opponent Andy Duyck:

• Andy opposed the 2006 Metro Greenspaces Bond that is still protecting parks and waterways across Washington County today.
• Even more destructive is the unbalanced approach Duyck wants to take with the management of our state forest land in Washington County. (Check the video around 34:02)
• And while Dick supports using your tax dollars wisely to improve our communities and create local jobs, Andy has a record of supporting policies that increase costly sprawl and traffic congestion.

This race couldn't be more important to the future of Washington County.
