Statesman Journal lays out environmental priorities
A story in Saturday's Salem Statesman Journal lays out environmental priorities for Oregon's special legislative session, which started today and last only four short weeks.
"I feel like these are unifying, bipartisan issues," said Jon Isaacs, executive director of the Oregon League of Conservation Voters. "These are mainstream issues that matter to regular Oregonians, especially banning toxic chemicals from children's products. We feel like it is a common-sense agenda that ought to be able to move through the process without controversy."
Protection of remaining intact wilderness for its intrinsic value to all living inhabitants is as noble and worthy a goal as any development could possibly be. That's why we support organizations such as OLCV and our political representatives who work hard to protect Oregon's natural legacy.
