What's up with that headline?
The Oregonian ran my op-ed today about the necessity of the Oregon Legislature taking action on clean energy legislation, both to create green jobs and combat global warming.
But what was up with that headline?
They ran: "What ever happened to those 'green' jobs?"
It doesn't really match the piece at all.
A more appropriate headline is: "Legislature Needs to Move Forward, Not Backward, on Green Jobs."
Regardless, the piece illustrates the urgent necessity of Oregon's Legislature showing leadership in the next 10 days, beating back efforts to weaken existing policies the promote renewable energy, and passing bills like HB 2186 to promote more clean energy and reduce global warming pollution.
Protection of remaining intact wilderness for its intrinsic value to all living inhabitants is as noble and worthy a goal as any development could possibly be. That's why we support organizations such as OLCV and our political representatives who work hard to protect Oregon's natural legacy.
