Free Screening of Film 'Bag It!'
Thursday, July 19, 2012 (All day)
The Lane County Chapter of the Oregon League of Conservation Voters (OLCV), Surfrider Foundation, Sierra Club and Environment Oregon will be presenting a special screening of the independent film, “Bag It!”
“Bag It!” follows “everyman” Jeb Berrier as he navigates our plastic world. Jeb’s journey in this documentary film starts with simple questions: Are plastic bags really necessary? What are plastic bags made from? What happens to plastic bags after they are discarded? What starts as a film about plastic bags evolves into a wholesale investigation into plastic and its effect on our waterways, oceans, and our own bodies. Our crazy-for-plastic world has finally caught up to us. And through this film we learn that we can all do something about it.
OLCV, Surfrider Foundation, Sierra Club and Environment Oregon are offering this free screening to continue the dialogue in our community around plastic and its effect on our lives and our environment.
WHEN: Thursday, July 19, 2012 at 7:30pm
