The People's Choice Award goes to...

October 16, 2009

The people have spoken. The OLCV People’s Choice Award goes to:

Rep. Jules Bailey!

Last month, OLCV released its Environmental Scorecard for the 2009 Oregon Legislature. The Scorecard includes votes on 21 key environmental bills and highlights six legislators for their outstanding work in 2009 to protect Oregon’s environmental legacy.

OLCV’s first-ever People’s Choice Award lets you, the people, decide who this session's environmental champion is.

So, you came. You read the Scorecard. You voted.

And now the results are in.

Rounding out the top five People’s Choice legislators are:

Second Place: Rep. Paul Holvey (D-Eugene)

Third Place: Rep. Ben Cannon (D-Portland)

Fourth Place: Rep. Brian Clem (D-Salem)

Fifth Place: Senator Jackie Dingfelder (D-Portland)

Congratulations to all five legislators who stand out to the people of Oregon as environmental leaders.

And thank you to everyone who voted!

Great choices all. Too bad there are only five slots. I would have picked Suzanne Bonamici in the top five. Glad to see Dingfelder getting the recongition she deserves. And Jules, Ben and Paul, all excellent! Rosenbaum, Walker, Barnhart and Nathanson also deserve recognition. Many thanks to these hard working legislators!

I'm glad Jules made it he's my Rep I'm glad I voted him in

I'm glad to see Rep. Brian Clem made the top five. It is so great to have him in the legislature. Besides voting well on environmental/land use issues, he also developed and worked hard on many other bills which would have improved the protection of farm land if not for the pro-development lobbyists. He and his staff did a great job in getting input from us and keeping us in the loop as bills progressed.
