The Oregon League of Conservation Voters endorses Will Rasmussen in race to replace Scott Bruun

Portland, OR—The Oregon League of Conservation Voters has endorsed Will Rasmussen in the race for the House District 37 seat.

Rasmussen works as an attorney with a focus on land-use issues. He has already gained the support of some of Oregon’s key conservation leaders like Rep. Jules Bailey (D-Portland) and Oregon Attorney General John Kroger.

"We have the opportunity in House District 37 to elect one of Oregon’s next environmental leaders,” said OLCV Executive Director Jon Isaacs. “Will’s proven commitment to conservation priorities shows that he can champion our environmental legacy in the legislature.”

The seat for House District 37, which covers parts of Clackamas and Washington counties, is currently held by Representative Scott Bruun. But Bruun will be running this year in an attempt to unseat Kurt Schrader in the U.S. House of Representatives.

Any candidate seeking an OLCV endorsement must first fill out a comprehensive questionnaire covering a variety of relevant environmental issues. Following review of the questionnaire, OLCV conducts face-to-face interviews with each candidate and considers each candidate’s environmental record and their level of commitment to protecting Oregon’s environmental legacy, as well as their leadership skills. In addition, OLCV tries to determine if the candidate is a serious contender for the office they are seeking. All endorsement recommendations are then reviewed and finalized by the OLCV PAC Board of Directors. For more information about OLCV endorsements, please visit www.olcv.org.

The Oregon League of Conservation Voters works to pass pro-environment laws, elect pro-environment candidates, and hold all of our elected officials accountable. www.olcv.org
